Empowering Women Through Research and Advocacy
Project Description
Introduction
Nepal faces significant challenges related to gender equality, women’s rights, and social inclusion. Our Women’s Issues Research Internship Nepal allows passionate individuals to engage in meaningful research and advocacy, contributing to policy recommendations and grassroots initiatives that empower women in Nepal.
Background
Despite progress, Nepal still struggles with gender disparity in education, economic participation, and leadership. According to the Global Gender Gap Report 2023, Nepal ranks 106th out of 146 countries in gender equality. Our Nepal Women’s Issues Research Internship aims to address these challenges by fostering research-driven solutions that inform policy changes and strengthen women’s empowerment programs.
Key Objectives
- Conduct field research on women’s rights, education, leadership, and social issues.
- Analyze the impact of gender-based policies in Nepal.
- Collaborate with local women’s NGOs and advocacy groups.
- Develop actionable recommendations for gender equality initiatives.
Why Volunteer for This Project?
The Need for Gender Research
Women in Nepal face systemic barriers in education, employment, and leadership. According to UNICEF, only 42% of women in Nepal are in the workforce, compared to 83% of men. The Research Internship in Women’s Empowerment Nepal helps shed light on these disparities and supports efforts to create inclusive policies.
Global Relevance
This internship aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and contributes to international gender research efforts. Your work will have a global impact by providing insights into challenges faced by women in Nepal and beyond.
