- 1 in 5 women suffer from uterine prolapse.
- 1 in 100 children in Nepal has not received any immunization.
Research is an integral part in identifying an existing problem and it provide ways to effectively solve it with high accuracy. However, Nepal lacks a proper amount of research that is required to study and address a communal problem. The amount of research done till date is not enough to understand and resolve the persisting issues related to public health. Lack of manpower and proper tools has kept us lagging behind in ensuring a healthy population. To ensure development, it is important to keep a population thriving.
Project Goal
VIN aims to identify problems related to public health and find possible solutions. By 2030, we hope to establish a baseline report to identify common health problems and its associated risk factor in communities.
SDG 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages
As mentioned by targets under SDG 3, it is vital to support the research and development of baseline and strategies to address existing public health problems in a community.
Project Description
Public Health Research project is designed to study a certain population and identify the existing health related problems in a community. The study helps in establishing a cause and effect relationship between people’s behaviors and the ways we can efficiently manage them. Prediction and management of upcoming public health concerns is yet another aspect of the project. The project helps in understanding why a certain problem is pre-existing and how to responsibly eradicate it. Thereafter, awareness programs and workshops are conducted to alert the population.
