Current Situation
- 3 in 4 employed youths are under-employed.
- English Language education started since 1951.
Specific skill sets and understandings that an industry requires continue to be a challenge for the youth of Nepal. Many time young people are unaware about the working trends. When they leave high school, most of the graduates are not well equipped with career prospects. Many do not even have a decent command over English language. They do not have any soft or hard skills. Teaching methodologies in Nepal is still very traditional focusing merely on passing out with good grades. Practical knowledge, exposure and career development skills are highly neglected. Hence, preventing youths from exploring and realizing their potential.
Thereafter, young people face plentiful challenges in finding a suitable job. Many would rather go to Gulf countries than work in unskilled trade.
Project Goal
VIN aims is to teach English language and provide career development skills to the youth in rural communities of Nepal. By 2030, we hope 80% participants learn basic English and practise life skills techniques in targeted areas.

Every person should be provided with learning opportunity for his/her growth and development. No one should have to compromise their career.
Project Description
VIN with the aim of bridging the gap between youths and current job trends, highly focuses on career development opportunities. We have been providing English language classes to the youths aged 16 to 30. Workshops on CV/resume writing, jobs hunting, preparing for interviews etc. are conducted in groups. Basic computer skills (MS Package, E-mail and Internet) that are required in ever field are also made available. We also provide trainings to develop presentational skills, commercial awareness, communication, leadership, confidence development and more.
As of 2020, VIN’s English and Career Development Project has been able to facilitate trainings and workshops for 988 youths in marginalized communities of Nepal.
